Tomorrow, will it be another day? Diptych of woodcuts printed in color on Kozo paper 40 x 40 cm (each).   

 

The diptych of woodcuts (as well as the video of the same name) deals with the image of the binomial power/bankruptcy. Both were designed specifically for the Clube da Uncool, on the occasion of the exhibition “Utopias e Distopias Atmosféricas”. 

 

The engravings present an outline of the lush Atlantic forest landscape in the middle of dusk, where the light, little by little, disappears. In the video, this movement of light happens together with the awakening of nocturnal sounds and noises. An opposition is marked, where as the forest's sound intensifies, the fraying of the definition of the image is perceived through the silent dissipation of light.  

 

Power and bankruptcy; utopia and dystopia. Today's times. Will the morning come into the night, or will tomorrow be a permanent night?
