Algum lugar, lugar algum is a series composed of oil paintings on canvas of different formats made between 2019 and 2020. The whole series produces a sense of suspension, destabilizing the representative space in an allusion to the destabilization of the Brazilian political sphere in recent years. The landscape is revealed amid debris, revolt, a kind of devastated land still unable to show unity and be read in a way that makes sense. At first triggered by the environmental disaster in Brumadinho (MG/Brazil), the series extrapolates the geographical reference, constituting much more as a metaphor for the dismantling that Brazilian institutions have been suffering and the hopelessness that, at that moment, plagues the country.
